Lobsters, yummy treat, weird alien from the deep or downright wrong? Whatever your thoughts on Lobsters, the National Lobster Hatchery in Padstow will make you think again, and somehow makes you really care about the little crustaceans.
The National Lobster Hatchery is tiny, in all around the same size of a couple of rooms in your average house, however, the entry price is next to nothing as a result, however you can pass half an hour or so inside, watching films of how the Hatchery help the local Lobster population.
Behind glass are multiple Lobsters, some on their own, others with a few friends, some about to be released into the Sea, others, mothers who are carrying their eggs and being looked after.
You can follow the life of a lobster, seeing the floating babies, only just hatched, to the more recognisable lobster form, only teeny tiny and so sweet!
OK, its not a major attraction, however, however, for a couple of quid we took a look and quite enjoyed it, in the end even adopting a lobster, which in reality means very little, however, we got a certificate and we like to think that somewhere out there, a lobster called Little Dan is appreciative we helped him go into the wild.
